Tournament structure
The tournament will consist of 8 groups of 5 players (40 players) where each player face each other twice, followed by a double elimination playoff where each match is played twice. Top three in each group will advance directly to the playoff with the first and second ranked players being placed in upper bracket while the third ranked player is placed in lower bracket. The fourth and fifth ranked players are eliminated from the tournament.

Groups will be randomly picked on July 26th at 20.00 (CET) and made public on www.the-experience.dk
Prize purse
Each round of the four upper bracket playoff matches have 400 € to be divided amongst the winning players. First round have 8 winning players each getting 50 €, next round have 4 winning players each getting 100 € etc. The winner of the FIFA 09 tournament will get additional 800 €, second place 400 € and third place 200 €.
The tournament prize system
Upper bracket 1: 400 / 8 = 50 € to each winner
Upper bracket 2: 400 / 4 = 100 € to each winner
Upper bracket 3: 400 / 2 = 200 € to each winner
Upper bracket 4: 400 / 1 = 400 € to each winner
Third place: 200 €
Second place: 400 €
First place: 800 €
Total: 3.000 €
This means that an undefeated player in the FIFA 09 tournament will get: 1.550 €
FIFA 09 RULESET
FIFA 09 at the-eXperience 2009 will have a total prize purse of 3.000 € in cash and the tournament will consist of 40 players.
All matches are played on the-eXperience PC's. The tournament area will have 16 high end PC's which enables 8 matches to be executed simultaneously. Players are not allowed to bring PC's or monitors.
1. Admins
The lead admin of FIFA 09 at the-eXperience 2009 will be Mikael “mbu” Bondum, who will be constantly assisted by 2 referees. Main admin of all tournaments at the-eXperience will be Jeppe "j0yb0y" Bjerre, who has the final say on all disputes.
Decisions made by the admins and referees are not disputable.
2. General rules and regulations
2.1 The software used is FIFA 09 on PC
2.2 It is a 1 (one) player tournament.
2.3 Each player is responsible for him/her self and will be responsible of all communication with the admin and referees.
2.4 Each player must use the same name during the entire tournament.
2.5 Each person attending the tournament must have read and accepted these regulations. Ignoring it can not be a reason put forward in case of an issue

• Teams: You can choose between all clubs and national teams as long as they are not locked (World/Classic team).
3.1 The first priority of playing the game is Multiplayer-LAN. If any error happens, please call an admin. The alternative is Direct-IP. If Direct-IP is used, it has to be accepted by an admin, and the players are not allowed to skip the game-intro in order to verify that Adidas Live Season is off.
3.2 If a player during the match, wants to change formations (or substitute), he will give the ball to the other player, so he can change his man markings. After having made the changes the ball has to go back again. We request that the players before match start agrees whether or not to use this rule.
3.3 All longball-combinations (a, d, qa, qw, qd) are not allowed if the ball is shot from your own last third of the pitch, to the opponents last third. The FIFA Soccerbot detects unallowed longballs.
3.4 Corner kicks: Players are not allowed to shoot the ball directly onto the bar from a corner kick in order to get a chance for a header when the ball rebounds.
3.5 Goals will only count if they are fired from the opponents half. That means that shot from your own half is NOT allowed.
3.6 Kickoff: Every time the players kick off, the ball has to been played backwards. It is NOT allowed to run straight forward and shoot on target after kick off.
3.7 Throw-in: It is forbidden to make a throw-in directly into the opponent's penalty area.
3.8 Timeplay is not allowed. If a player passes the ball around in defense, trying to get the time to pass, please call an admin, who will be watching the rest of the game in order to avoid timeplay.
3.9 Violation of the rules and cheating will be sanctioned according to 11.2.
4. Patches
4.1 Latest Padpatcher will be used with following settings: Amateur Series.
4.2 All players must use FIFA Soccerbot 1.2.3.0 to bot every match.
4.3 Both the FIFA Soccerbot and the latest Padpatcher will be available on the PCs.
4.4 EA Patch: The game will be updated with the EA Patch 1 and EA Patch 2. The only file you may change is the devdata.dat to install a gamepad/joypad. Any other changes should be made through the FIFA menu.
5. System
5.1 Detail level: free choice
5.2 Referee: free choice
5.3 Assisting Referees: free choice
6. The FIFA arena
6.1 The FIFA arena is only open on specific match times according to the program.
6.2 Players and managers may not leave their area during matches.
6.3 When a match is over players and managers have to wait for a referee to confirm the result.
6.4 Only upon the acceptance of a referee, may players and managers leave the FIFA arena and only if the exit is made in a polite and respective way towards the other players still playing.
7. Match and warm up
Every match has 5 minutes of warm up time followed by 24 minutes of match time (inclusive penalty time). The warm up time can be used to warm up ingame or to install config files and drivers. No player will be granted more time than the 5 minutes set aside for preparation.
8. Computer and player failures
Players are responsible for any software or hardware that is not installed/provided by the-eXperience.
9. Server, network or electrical failure
9.1 If the connection between two players are interrupted during a match, the players will have to play the remaining time of the match plus three (3) minutes of additional time. Goals scored before the interruption stands firm.
9.2 If an unintentional disconnections occurs after a player receives a red card, the situation will have to be recreated. This means that the player whom received the red card, will have to make free kicks until he receives the red card.
9.3 A player causing intentional failures are banned from the match (e.g. deliberate restart of the PC, deliberate disconnecting from the game etc.)
10. Fair-play
10.1 It is forbidden to insult, abuse or manhandle a player or an admin, or do damage to others property.
10.2 It will NOT be tolerated that players are delaying the game, by passing the ball around with the only purpose of delaying the game. This is cheating and will be punished.
10.3 It is totally forbidden to switch players around, with the purpose of ruining the opponents man marking.
10.4 It is forbidden to do damage the property of Roskilde eSport and partners of the-eXperience.
10.5 The notion of fair-play is up to the referee’s assessment.
10.6 Lack of fair play can lead to penalties.
In order to secure a pleasant course of game, we encourage all players to show a sportsmanlike and fair conduct.
11. Penalties and disqualification
11.1 If rules are broken, referees can in unison with the tournament admin apply penalties according to their judgement.
11.2 Penalties that can be applied are the following;
- warning
- default loss
- banning a player/team from the Arena
- disqualification of a player/team from the entire tournament
- penalties may vary depending on the violation and the ruling of the referee
11.3 Disqualifications are applied by the tournament admin and the event manager of the-eXperience in unison. And will void all rights of the player to participate further in the tournament, and also to use the facilities provided by the-eXperience.
12. Pointsystem group play
3 points for a win
1 point for a tie
0 points for a loss
12.1 In group play players face eachother twice. Points are awarded to players based up on the total overall outcome of the match. Ex. if a player wins first match and the other player wins second match, 1 point is awarded to each player. If a player wins both first and second match, or if a player wins one match and the other is tied, then that player is the total winner of the match.
12.2 No show = 3 point to the winner, 0 points to the loser.
13. Equality of points after the group matches
If two or more players are equal on points on completion of the group matches, the following criteria are applied to determine the rankings.
a) Higher number of points obtained in the group matches played amongst the players in question.
b) Superior goal difference from the group matches played amongst the players in question.
c) Higher number of goals scored in the group matches played amongst the players in question.
d) If, after applying criteria a) to c) to several players, two or more players still have an equal ranking, the criteria a) to c) will be reapplied to determine the ranking of these teams. If this procedure does not lead to a decision, criteria e) and f) will apply.
e) Result against the best player in the group. Still even, then result against the second best, and so on. f) Drawing of lots.
14. Match overtime
14.1 In group play - If the match is draw, you do NOT play extra time or penalty shoot out. It is the result of the end of the 2. half that counts.
14.2 In playoffs – If the first and the second match is draw, you play overtime and eventually penalty shoot-out on the second match. If the score is even after two matches, you play a third game (2x2 minutes) with eventually overtime and penalty shoot-out.
15. Reporting the result
All results must be reported to the respective referee right after the match. All players must be able to provide screenshots of the score.
16. Gear, drivers and configs
Players are allowed to bring their own mouse, joypad, headset and keyboard, as well as drivers and config files etc. All PC's will be open for configuration and can easily be reset to a fresh install.
16.1 It is the players own responsible that his or her driver works for an eventually gamepad.
Notification
These rules are the only rules to be used at the-eXperience event organized by Roskilde eSport, no other rules are valid than those officially announced here in this document.
